The Venere lineup from Sonus Faber is a stylish range of speakers that adds a dash “fashion” into your listening room. None of the speakers are designed in the usual rectangular “box” shape but rather have tapered ends, smooth curves and impeccable finish that exudes class over its other competing brands. From the side, the Venere center speaker looks like a tear shape going horizontal. Two 5.25″ woofers and a 1″ dome tweeter are mounted in the slightly curved front and towards the tapered edge on the back sits the two speaker binding posts. The speaker has a nominal impedance of 6 ohm and a sensitivity of 89dB. Recommended power to drive it is 30W to 150W. Frequency response is between 60 Hz to 25 KHz. Physically, the Venere C is a more modest medium size speaker with a 20″ width, 9″ height and 12″ depth.
If you are reading this far and admires its stylish design, then you will not be disappointed with how it sounds. It has a very clean and clear sound. Almost “mirror” like in presentation. Bass was a tad on the lighter side but we kind of expected that given its more modest physical attributes and its 5.25″ woofers. Plus, in a home theater setting, you would probably be using a subwoofer so much of the lower level bass energy won’t be coming through the center anyway. The mids and highs was neutral and smooth so dialogue was especially clear. All in all, this is a very affordably priced, “luxuriously” finish center speaker from Sonus Faber. Wooden base is included where you can adjust the incline on the center for the best effect.
Cosmetically, there are the usual polishing swirl marks and minor scuff marks here and there. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping.
