Produced in limited numbers, the Guarneri Homage is one of the more desirable speakers that you could own for its aesthetic beauty and its first class musicality. These are classy sounding speakers and not the kind you would pipe in rock or heavy metal through them. Put on vocals, orchestra and jazz and they will have you glued on to your chair for hours. Each speaker houses a 1.1″ silk dome tweeter and a 6.5″ polypropylene-cone woofer that gives the speakers a frequency range of 55 Hz to 20 KHz. Nominal impedance is 6 ohm and sensitivity is 86.5 dB. The speakers do relish amps with good high current where they can then be fully exploited for its musical range and a reference standard for smoothness, low coloration and neutrality. Mounted on its matching stands (about 39″ tall) and placed strategically in our listening room, the Guarneri Homage was able to disappear behind the voluptuous soundstage it created. The depth and width was impressive for a speaker that only measures 7.5″ wide, 15″ tall and 14.75″ deep. These speakers are where you want to feel and hear the soul in the music rather than hear them banging out bass or tearing the highs from an electric guitar. Speakers would need to be bi-wired or you can make a jumper for them.
Cosmetically, they are in nice shape. Minor marks here and there and a small ding on the top side edge of one speaker. We don’t have the original boxes so local pickup from our store preferred or we can boxed them up individually and ship them strapped on a pallet.
