This center channel speaker is no slouch of a speaker. Weighing in at 36lbs with a physical size of 26.25″ wide, 10.5″ tall and 11″ deep, the C50a is capable of producing a soundstage that is as large as its physical statue. It soaks power like a sponge and the more you throw at it (or make it available for it), the better in dynamics in sounded. Frequency response is from 62Hz to 18KHz with a nominal impedance of 6 ohm and a sensitivity of 90dB. Switches at the back allowed for some “tweaking” with how it sounded based on how it is being displayed on the rack and how sharper or less sharp you want it to be (we left it at zero during our auditioning). The C50a likes going full assault. In the smaller setup at lower volumes, it sounded a tad slow but in the larger setup and at louder volumes, the C50a is a dynamo. Vocals were crisp, bass was tight and punchy, mids were forceful with the right balance of warmth and the highs were detailed and smooth. It was clearly designed to be partnered to a larger screen for maximum enjoyment.
There are some light scuff marks on the speaker cabinets but nothing major. Grille cover is generally good with only some wear on the corner. We have the original packaging and manual is available online. See our other listing for the matching F50 stereo speakers that previously partnered with this C50a for a full Revel home theater setup.
