The DTM-5.9 is Integra’s “workhorse” stereo receiver (two channel speaker output only). With 100W at 8 ohm and 200W in 4 ohm, the DTM-5.9 is pretty powerful at its $800 MSRP offering. It has loads of inputs with many of them also offering video in (but will only output in stereo and not surround sound). This is the unit for the user who has a video player and wants to enjoy it in a stereo system without any plans to expand it into a multichannel setup. It even has a phono input for a turntable with MM cartridge!
Sound quality is actually very good for the money. It is not as smooth and warm sounding as a NAD integrated but it has clean detailed lines across the frequency range. Tone controls on the front allows for adjustment on the LF and HF which is more than adequate to balance things out in your system.
Cosmetically, the unit looks good. Some scuff marks/light scratches here and there. Nothing major. We don’t have the original box but have an Onkyo remote that works with it. Manual is available online. Unit will be securely packed for safe shipping.
