Many hobbyists never consider the CD changer as an “audiophile” component. We are guilty of that too. They are usually relegated as good sounding CD players that will play hours and hours of music. But this Marantz was an eye opener. Maybe it was the Arcam amp and B&W’s DM630 speakers that we paired it up with but this simple system was basking in audiophile glory. The Indigo Girls CD that we slotted inside the Marantz was very well presented in a wide and deep soundstage. The live recording made our listening room felt like a concert hall. If we have the Marantz hidden under a veil, we are pretty sure many of our customers would have thought we were using a much more expensive CD player. This is another example of how a well designed player can sound a lot more expensive and “high end” that its own under appreciated price suggests.
Cosmetically, there are some scuff marks here and there and a small scratch on the left side but nothing major. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack it for safe shipping. Original remote included.
