Overview

If rack space is a premium in your system and you can only accommodate a single integrated amp, you should then consider the this receiver from Magnum Dynalab. There two key things that is really going for the MD 208. Firstly, it has an excellent tuner onboard and secondly, it is a very good integrated amp, almost “borderline” reference material. That is quote and achievement and bargain considering a comparable tuner only unit from Magnum Dynalab would have easily cost $1,200. So for just under $1,500, you not only have a top notch tuner but also a high quality integrated amp together. The amp section is a 100W per channel in 8 ohms and 160W in 4 ohms. That is loads of power for most application. When we tried it with our B&W 802D speakers, it was able drive it effortlessly with a punchy, clear and tight warm sound. Truly delightful sounding receiver. The sub-$1,500 category is a very competitive region. There may be alternatives with more features or even more power but when it comes to quality of sound, there are but only a handful and with the MD 208 having the additional tuner feature on board (an area where they are great experts at), the MD 208 can be seen as either a top class tuner with an impressive sounding integrated section or vice versa. Either way, it distinguishes itself from the crowded field it competes in.

Cosmetically, it is in very nice shape. Minor scuff marks from use but nothing major. We don’t have the original box or manual but will securely pack it for safe shipping. Original remote included.
