Enthusiastic owners of the Consonance have gone far as claiming this to be one of the best deal in preamps. Quite frankly, we feel they have a point. The Consonance is indeed a very good preamp. Very open and transparent sounding, it projects imagery with lots of detail and depth. Back in the early Nineties, it was a state of the art preamp and now twenty years later, it still holds its own with many current preamps and even preamps that cost much more. The internal layout is a textbook in design excellence. Unique to the Consonance is a total lack of any rotary knobs. Everything is button controlled and the volume is stepped attenuated with precise level controls. Infrared receiver is a separate box if you ever plan on using the remote control or else every function is accessible on the front of the preamp.
We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe arrival. Cosmetically, the preamp looks really good. Display is a bit dim but still readable. Minor scuff marks but nothing major.
