J.C. Verdier is a specialty manufacturer that only focuses on all things tube or at least analog in nature. The 210 tube amplifier you see here is one of the sweetest 10W tube amplifier around and are extremely hard to find in the used market. It is superbly well made and has a very solid feel to it. The chrome top case gives it a real classy appearance and when powered up, the orange glow of the tubes inside gives it a reflective “glow” if you have a dimly lighted listening room.
Needless to say, the 10W output is not going to drive any speakers except those that are very efficient (at least 90dB or more). We tried it with a pair of Cain & Cain speakers that had a 95dB sensitivity and the amp drove it really loud with an amazing and holographic soundstage. The mid-range was liquid smooth and the highs pitch perfect. Tube complements are fairly simple and minimal. There are four J.C.Verdier branded 6BQ5 power tubes and one 12AT7 and one 12AX7.
Cosmetically, the amp is in very nice shape. The chrome could do with a little polishing to bring out more shine but it is good for us. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping.
