The RDV-1 was a legend from the DVD era. Positioned as a top end model under Onkyo’s high brand, Integra Research, the RDV-1 was equally impressive as as DVD player and a CD player. It had lots of bells and whistles, like a 24Bit/192KHz DAC, THX certification (which means it met the highest industry standards for audio/video playback), the use of an Apogee clock for the digital conversion section, Vector Linear Conversion System just to name a few. The latter two is what makes this player a class beating CD player in the sub-$1,000 category of CD players. If you don’t care much about Blu-Ray, the RDV-1 offers some impressive video playback especially when using its component video output. So whether you are getting this as a video playback player or an audio player for a stereo system, the RDV-1 will do well in either situation. Built quality like any other Integra units is of the highest quality and standard. This is a player that is built like a tank.
Cosmetically, the unit looks good. There is a knick on the bottom left hand corner of the faceplate and minor scuff marks elsewhere but still looks good overall. An Integra remote is included and the unit will be securely packed for safe shipping. Manual is available online.
