This is the earlier version of the award winning phono stage from the U.K. that sells for $1,000 now. Specification wise, it is pretty much the same as the current “V” version. It is still a MM phono stage (or a high output MC cartridge) with an input sensitivity of 2mV – 9mV. Gain is 42dB with an input impedance of 47k. Output is 240mV – 1.08mV. Power supply is via an external unit which keeps electrical noise away from the sensitive phono boards on the main unit. Unit is as simple as plug and play. Just connect the phono cables from your turntable into the Era Gold and from there, run another pair of interconnect cables to your preamp or integrated and you are good to go.
Cosmetically, there are some scuff marks here and there (mainly on the chassis cover) and tiny knicks along the edges. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack it for safe shipping.
