The Ikon On-Wall pair of speakers are very interesting, multi-use speakers. They are designed to be mounted on walls and can be used as front stereo speakers or in a home theater room, as surround speakers. Each speaker has a sizeable presence – 15″ tall, 11′ wide and 6.5″ deep at the thicker end of the speaker. The front baffle is slightly angled in so when you mount them on walls, you would want them facing in towards the sweet spot in your listening room.
Sonically, they are quite impressive speakers. Even though they are mounted on walls, they were able to image very nicely with quite impressive bass energy, warm mids and very detailed but smooth highs. Each speaker has a 6.5″ woofer and a hybrid tweeter assembly that comprise of one ribbon and one dome tweeter (which explains its smooth and detailed highs). Ideally, the distance between the two speakers should be between 6-9 feet if your listening spot is 6-8 feet from the center of the two speakers. Anything more further apart than that and you might need to sit further back. As surround speakers, they were more capable than the demands required. In fact, if you don’t have better front and center speakers, the Ikon On-Wall might just over shadow your front speakers!
If you don’t want big floorstanding speakers or bookshelf speakers that needs to be mounted on stands, the Ikon On-Wall speakers are a solid alternative where they deliver sonic excellence without too much compromise. The speakers has an impressive frequency spread – 58Hz – 30 KHz, a nominal impedance of 6 ohms and 88.5dB sensitivity.
Cosmetically, the speakers are in good shape. They were former dealer demos. Some minor scuff marks here and there and on the back of one speaker, there are some scratch marks from being carelessly mounted on the wall. We have the original box and will securely pack them for safe shipping.
