We have sold several SA-7.1 so far and this particular unit is by far the best. And that is because of the extensive update the previous owner had it done with Alta Vista Audio in Oregon. Caps have been replaced, IEC inlet installed (which will allow you to try out different AC cords), phono stage was disconnected (but can be connected) because the previous owner only use CD as a source, circuit board damping installed and lastly, the most important, SA-7.1’s line stage upgrade. All these was done to the tune of $1,122. If you listen to this and the stock SA-7.1, you will agree its money well spent. The preamp is quieter, soundstage was more vibrant and imaging was more holographic.
Cosmetically, the preamp looks really good. A couple of small knicks along the edges of the faceplate but nothing major. All paperwork for the upgrade will be included. The work was done in 2011. so it was pretty recent. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack it for safe shipping.
