If you are looking for one of the best buys in sub-$1,500 amplifier, the BAT VK-200 is one of them. It rivals the Krell KST-100 that we also have for sale and while both amps are equally great, the VK-200 has a slightly richer tonal nature. There is a hint of “tubeness” in the VK-200 that was absent in the Krell. But the Krell has a more feisty bite on the bottom end. So it really boils down to your taste. Do you want something that is a bit tube sounding or you want something that gives your system a bit more tightness. See our other listing for a matching VK-50 tube preamp that will match it perfectly.
The VK-200 is a 200W amp in 4 ohms and 100W in 8 ohms. That’s plenty of power for a mid-range amplifier and will drive any mid-range speakers with ease. Cosmetically, it is in very nice shape. Minor scuff marks from use but nothing major. We do have a BAT box (not an original VK-200 box) to pack it in but will double box it for added security during shipping.
