The Niagara 1000 is Audioquests’ most cost effective power conditioner. It enjoys some trickle down benefits of its more expensive brethren, the Niagara 7000, with things like their patented Ground Noise-Dissipation technology that are offered in all six outlets via three isolated sections. One of the outlets is a high current section that are meant for amps. The other five outlets are for source units and preamps. This, in our opinion is the real “star” factor in the Niagara 1000. Some of the amps and CD players we had it connected with had their noise floor reduced somewhat which resulted in better definition and depth to the music. Surge protection is standard like every other power conditioner but the Niagara is non-current limiting with a 6000V or 3000 amps peak spike. In which case, it’s overvoltage shutdown/reset feature will kick in.
Cosmetically, the unit looks very good. One previous owner from new. We have the original box for it. Audioquest do not ship the unit with an AC cord so if you need one, especially a heavier gauge AC cord, contact us for a package deal.
